Work such as is suggested viz:- visiting Chinese brothels would, especially during the hot summer months, be too trying for an English Lady; their health would not stand it in this trying climate.
No Lady Doctor fond of her profession would stand the monotony of dealing with these special diseases, especially seeing the few that she would be able to persuade to submit to treatment.
Moreover, if the work done is to be at all effectual, many more than one Lady Doctor would be required, as I understand there are thousands of prostitutes in this Colony at the present moment.
