This report states very fully the various recommendations made by the Sanitary Board, but it does not answer the statement made by Colonel Evatt A.M.D. as to the filthy state of the town, nor does it give any information as to what has been actually done by the Medical Officer of Health under the instructions of the Board, as to cleaning houses, closing them, &c. &c. This is the detail that I require. Apart from its resolutions and recommendations the Sanitary Board has large and important powers. I want to know for the information of the Secretary of State how the Board has used them.
