work yet it may perhaps be well to add that last year 136 prosecutions for overcrowding were instituted and 129 convictions obtained, and 434 prosecutions for other nuisances in domestic dwellings were instituted, out of which 408 convictions were obtained, and 22 defendants absconded from the Colony.
