2. Mr. Chamberlain proposes, with your concurrence, Sir Henry Blake to direct the Colonial Treasurer to state in the case of each retiring allowance, on its first reference in the statement submitted by him for audit, whether the grant of such allowance has been approved by the Secretary of State, and, if not, to state that the grant has been made in anticipation of such approval, and that the local Auditor will be informed as soon as advice of approval is received.
