in charge of the Clerical Branch (then in a very confused state, vide C.S.O. 36/93), which on his resignation became amalgamated with the Accounting and Stores Branches, as Clerical, Accounting and Stores Branch.
This change continues to be a saving to Government of $1,800 per annum.
In the Branch I have the honour to be in charge of, I am the only British officer appointed from home. I am not to introduce any question, such as exchange, which may affect all British officers alike, but I respectfully submit the foregoing facts, which, with my former communications, I earnestly hope may now enable you to favourably advise His Excellency the Governor.
