way is considerably higher.
I am grateful indeed to the Right Honourable the
Secretary of State, for having been pleased to promote me to a
more prosperous and rising colony, but I feel sure that I will
not be allowed while receiving such promotion to suffer pecuniary loss or to be unfortunately placed in a position to become
embarrassed.
