2. It is clear from the reports enclosed in

the former Despatch

what steps should be taken to remedy state of things.

Dr. Clark refers in the

last paragraph of his

report:

first to a bill that has been introduced

into the Legislative

Council

on the 22nd

November last, in

consequence

of certain

recommendations of the

Sanitary Board, but which had not, at the date of his report, been passed into law. I should be glad to know for what

reason it was

considered inexpedient to

proceed with the

Measure
