partitions of cubicles &c. &c. is deducted to arrive at the clear air space demanded by the Health Ordinance, then the overcrowding in these rooms amounts to 8,775 persons. I am inclined to think, with the majority of the Sanitary Board, that the present is scarcely the time to enforce section 37 of Part II of the Ordinance 24 of 1887.

If the law officers of the Crown would prepare an amendment of the Ordinance whereby the Board would be able to deal with this nuisance by some more simple and speedy procedure than that now required it would be a great advantage.
