great importance of the Hong Kong Volunteer Corps to the Colony, and how substantial is the addition of strength which the Military Forces derive from the support of that Corps. The General Officer Commanding concurs with me in the belief that no efforts should be spared to render it as effective as possible, and that if properly trained and equipped and liberally supported by Government, the Corps will be a material addition to the strength of the Garrison.
