on behalf of the Directors the following conditions in the
event of the grant of a site being approved by you for the
purpose, viz.,
(1) That the buildings to be erected thereon consist solely of wards in extension of the Hospital, the
plans of which must be passed by the Director of Public
Works and Principal Civil Medical Officer.
(2) That the wards be completed and open for the
accommodation of patients within 18 months from the date
of the grant, failing which the Government shall have power to cancel the grant, and resume the land.
4. I attach a plan of the site applied for and
a description of the lot, furnished by the Director of Public
Works, and I beg to strongly recommend the application of the
Hospital Directors for your favourable consideration.
5. As the Directors desire to make an early
commencement with the erection of the new buildings, I shall
be glad to receive a reply to this despatch by telegraph.
