Prepare and close registered mail for Continent by British, French, and German Packets.
Prepare and close mail for Honolulu and San Francisco by American Packets and also Victoria B.C. and Vancouver; registered mail and parcel mail by Canadian Packets; prepare and close Shanghai by British and French Packets; prepare and close parcel mail to London by English mail and parcels to Bremen by German mail.
Deal with Continent mails arriving by contract packets assisted by 7th. and 8th. Clerks; deal with Continent mails arriving by German Packets assisted by the 8th. Clerk only; assist with San Francisco ex American Packets; check counterfoils for Australian, German, and London Parcels; prepare a list of the steamers leaving during his tour of duty and portion the work out among the other two clerks; and in like manner with all registered mail arriving by private steamers.
