The original translation which I made of the statement is attached to declaration, and I regret to say that by a slip of the pen I wrote the 3rd moon instead of the 13th moon. The fact that the next paragraph of Wong Kwok's statement begins after the death of Wong Jan shows that Wong Kwok was referring in the preceding passage to a period when Wong Jan was alive.

195A. I sent the English version to H.B.M's Consul at Canton but not the original Chinese when Wong Kwok was about to make his declaration, and unfortunately Wong Kwok did not correct the mistake made by myself in the translation of his statement when he was declaring it.
