I, Wong Kwok, formerly carrying on the trade of a tailor in Hongkong, but banished from the Colony in 1894, do hereby solemnly declare and say that in October last I made to Police Constable Yau Han a statement to the following effect:

In the 14th year of Kwang Hsu, Stanton raided a large number of gambling houses. In consequence of this, the Masters of five Fantan gambling establishments consulted together and sent Cheung Boi and Wong Kwok to enquire of Stanton whether he would accept bribes or not.
Stanton agreed to accept bribes and Cheung Boi and Wong Kwok reported the fact to the five gambling Masters. Thereupon, the five gambling Masters put Two hundred dollars in bank notes into an envelope and gave it to Cheung Hoi and Wong Kwok to give to Stanton. On the 22nd day of the 8th Moon of the 14th year of Kwang Hsu, at 7 o'clock in the evening, on the Praya at Wanchai near the long bridge, Cheung Hoi and Wong Kwok gave into the hands of Stanton an envelope containing Two hundred dollars in bank notes.
