During the quarter Dr. Chung successfully performed the following surgical operations:-

7 Paracentesis abdominis for dropsy.

2 Evan's operation for entropion

1 iridectomy

1 amputation of supernumerary finger

1 reduction of subglenoid dislocation of shoulder

1 circumcision.

1 removal of sequestra of bone

1 forceps operation for difficult labour.

The last named operation is interesting as marking the introduction of western obstetric surgery into the Tung Wah Hospital. The child unfortunately died five days later but the mother was discharged well.
