Read the notice convening the meeting.

The Chief Justice made a statement as to the objects of the meeting. He also read a letter from Mr. J. J. Francis, Q.C., expressing an opinion against the Chief Justice undertaking the revision of Ordinances.

Mr. Master spoke in favour of His Honour undertaking the work. Mr. Robinson seconded.

Question put and carried unanimously.

Mr. Robinson moved that it was desirable that the civil procedure of the Supreme Court should be revised. Dr. Ho Kai seconded.

Question put and carried unanimously.

Mr. Pollock moved that the revision should be on the basis of the Code of Civil Procedure. Mr. Dennys seconded.

Mr. Slade moved, as an amendment, that the revision should be on the basis of the Judicature Acts and the Rules of Court made thereunder. Mr. Ewens seconded.

Mr. Master spoke against the amendment. Mr. Stephens spoke in favour of the amendment.
