Prima facie considerations would certainly point to the work of revision being entrusted to the Attorney General, with and without local committee.
Sir H Carrington has often done similar work before, & Joseph Hutcherson and Bradford Griffith afford other examples. The love of Civil Procedure is 84 years old.
It is still referred to in the objections mentioned in para 2 of the letter. Sir Carrington's offer to prepare a revised edition of the whole statute book of Hong Kong was declined in 1898 (24425/98), but I see no reason why his present proposal should not be accepted, as it will be a useful piece of work & will be done under the English Rules of Court.
