gested by Mr.Howard himself. I therefore am of opinion that the
godown and site be sold at public auction, the purchase money
going to Mr.Howard and the Government will pay the difference
between the nett price and the sum of $124,663. The Government
should pay Mr.Howard interest at the rate of 7 % per annum
from the date of the sale till date of payment on the above
mentioned difference.
As an alternative Mr.Howard should have the
option of accepting a lump sum as compensation for the injury
to his business, &c., alleged to have been brought about by the
reclamation
In this view Mr.Howard should retain his go-
down &c., and receive $15,000 from the Government as a complete
settlement of the case. I arrive at this figure in the follow-
ing way.
The value given in paragraph 5 as to the pro-
perty being worth $110,000.00 which deducted from $124,663
gives when liberally considered nearly the sum proposed,
