The period between the 26th March and the 6th April, Magisterial Cases were referred to me and other official matters entrusted to me. I may also mention that some time ago, when there were two Magistrates, of whom Commander Hastings was one, and when it became necessary to detach him from his magisterial duties, I performed the work for a month at the request of the Government without any extra remuneration.

I would respectfully solicit an indulgence to the extent of being permitted to date my vacation leave from the 6th April - the date of my departure from the Colony, instead of from the 9th March.
