I beg to acknowledge the receipt of your kind communication in reference to the lamented death of

Miss Ireland from bubonic plague at Hong Kong.

I shall feel a melancholy pleasure in conveying the same to Miss Ireland's bereaved relatives, for the

best consolation left to them in their sorrow is the

knowledge that Miss Ireland herself, and her Nursing services were as much appreciated at Hong Kong as by

the many friends she has left to mourn her loss at

her own Hospital.
