Sir Thomas Sanderson presents his compliments to the
Under Secretary of State for the Colonies, and, with reference
to the correspondence which passed on the subject of the appoint-
ment of Mr. C. Beuermann as Acting Consul for Denmark at Hongkong
in December 1896 during the absence of Mr. Consul Kramer, begs
leave to inform him that, according to a Note from the Danish
Minister at this Court dated the 18th, instant, Mr. Kramer resign
-ed his post on the 9th. instant, and that pending a new appoint-
ment Mr. Beuermann will remain in charge of the Danish Consulate.
