Sir:-
With reference to your letter 8898 of the 31st
ultimo respecting Richard Gamble, a lunatic in the
Hongkong Government Asylum, I am directed by the
Marquess of Salisbury to state to you, for the inform-
ation of Mr. Secretary Chamberlain that, a letter to
Mr George Gamble having been returned through the
Post Office marked "not known", application was made
to the Irish Office for aid in tracing the lunatic's
brother or other relatives. Copy of the report
furnished by the Royal Irish Constabulary Authorities
is enclosed herewith, and I am to suggest your com-
municating with Mr. Patrick Gamble.
