My Lord:-
I have the honour to report that Their
Royal Highnesses the Comte d'Eu and Prince Pierre
d'Alcantara d'Orléans arrived here on the 28th ul-
timo from San Francisco, and that they were presented
to the Emperor on the 7th instant by the French
Chargé d'Affaires.
Their Royal Highnesses were entertained by
the Austro-Hungarian Chargé d'Affaires at a banquet
to which a number of Court officials and members of
the diplomatic body were invited. I was unable to
be present, owing to my being absent from Tokio for
a few days but Her Majesty's Legation was represented
by Mr. Lowther.
Their Royal Highnesses have now left for
&C., &C.,
