Kilburn, N. W.
1st December 1898.
I regret to have to inform you that my husband, Mr Hugh P. Tooker, Executive Engineer, Hong Kong,
who
recently returned home on sick leave, has been suffering from hysteria and insomnia, which have since developed into a state of temporary unsoundness of mind and I have on the advice of Dr Blandford, Wimpole Street, placed him under the care of Dr Mould, Northumberland House, Finsbury Park. I feel it is only right that this information should be at once conveyed to you by me, and I trust that you will allow me to draw his salary, in the meantime, which is necessary
for his maintenance.
I have only to add that the professional gentlemen
who have seen my husband express every hope of his complete
recovery.
I have,

(Sa) Amy H. Tooker.
