Sir,
Hong Kong
Regn.26,412.
In continuation of our letter of the 29th June
respecting the designs for the proposed Law Courts and accessory offices at Hong Kong, I have the honour to forward
a copy of a report by the Consulting Architects accompanied
by five sketches shewing the arrangement which they have adopted on account of the restricted site on which it is
now proposed to place these buildings. The architects have
wisely prepared these sketches in order to be satisfied that
the arrangements of the building are generally suited to
local requirements before incurring the expense of detailed designs, and we would suggest that the plans and report be at
once forwarded to the Governor for consideration. Should
the matter be considered urgent, the Governor's approval might be conveyed by telegram, when we would at once instruct
the architects to proceed.
I have the honour to be
Under Secretary of State
&c
Le
Colonial Office.
Sir
Your Obedient Servant
Ma tamen.
