The plant required for erecting the Jetty would
be as follows:-
One 5 ton hand power jib crane, radius of jib
not less than 25 feet.
One double purchase hand power winch, to lift
3 tons direct, fitted with fleeting barrel.
20 feet.
One screwing capstan, outside diameter of arms
To be worked by hand power.
Two complete sets of divers dresses with air pumps
One cold cutting saw and saw sharpening machine.
Provision would have to be made for driving this by steam
power to be found in the Colony.
Screwing apparatus for bolts, and fitters tools,
also smith's forge and tools.
The foregoing were estimated to cost about £1000
delivered f.o.b. in England and a sum was included accord
ingly in the approximate extimate given in our letter
31st March 1898.
