With reference to your letter of the 22nd July
1898, No.16063/98, on the subject of the proposed remunera-
tion to Mr W. Chatham, in respect of the services rendered
by him in connection with the acquisition of Mr Sharp's
property at Hong Kong, I am commanded by the Lords Commis-
sioners of the Admiralty to acquaint you, for the informa-
tion of the Secretary of State for the Colonies, that
Treasury sanction having been given for the payment of a
fee of £25, as a charge to the Naval Works Accounts,

Lords have been pleased to authorize the Local Naval
Authorities to pay Mr Chatham accordingly.
