The suggestions made by Major General Black have

been very carefully considered, and My Lords hope that the

Secretary of State will concur in their opinion that the

reasonable extension of the Naval Yard seawards to obtain

which the Admiralty agreed to pay the cost of widening the Queen's Road, has not been exceeded under the present

scheme, and that the Admiralty cannot be called upon to

undertake any additional works for the extension and

improvement of the sea front between their property and

East Point.
