I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt
of Your Excellency's despatch under date of the 17th.instant
forwarding copy of a Telegram from the Secretary of State for
the Colonies, as follows:-
*Spanish Government have asked that they may
receive through British Consul at Manila statement of Spanish
killed and wounded in recent operations."
In reply thereto I beg to state that I called
yesterday on Admiral Montojo (Spanish Admiral) who has given
me the sub-joined information.
