Court fees paid upon the notice of motion affidavits and order of

admission.

Solicitors cannot practise as barristers but

under ordinance 15 of 1873 Section 7 they may practise as advocates

in the Court of Summary Jurisdiction where the Jurisdiction is re-

-stricted to cases in which $1,000 or less is involved. They also

appear in the Bankruptcy Court, the Police Court and in the Marine

Court.

The ordinances above referred to can only be al-

-tered by legislation.

There is no necessity to answer this. The number

of Solicitors admitted in Hongkong after being articled and examin-

-ed in the Colony during the last thirty years does not I believe

exceed six.
