These two officers had already

been issued Copies of the Remarks

of the Colonial Defence Committee,

so I enclose the Receipts for these

two documents signed by the Secretary of the Local Defenc

Committee.

paragraph

paragraph of your despatch under

Acknowledgment, dregret to have to inform you that Sir William Robinson's Receipt for his copy

of the Defence Scheme, forwarded with your Despatch of the 5th

October

last; cannot be found. I beg to state however that the Expy itseif

is in my safe possession
