With this memorandum I forward a plan of

the site shewing also all this part of the Reclamation, the
lots on which buildings have been already erected and on
which buildings are in course of construction. The two plots
belonging to the HongKong and Shanghai Bank, which are turfed

over and railed in and which that Corporation propose to
leave as open spaces are shewn, and it will be evident how
desirable it will be, if possible,to retain as open spaces

two similar areas to the fast 01 the dieen's Dratce. The New

Law Cutrus Shauil wherefore, if possible, be restricted to
the space of 28,800 square feet shewn on the plan.
I also forward for the inspection of the
Architects photographs of the Hong-Kong Club, the HongKong
and Shanghai Bank and the City Hall. In front of the latter
building is shewn the site for the Law Courts at present
encumbered with tiled sheds.
