stationed anywhere near Wa Lane for a number of months.
But it was explained that they had been pre-
viously in charge, one of the section in which Wa Lane is si.
tuated, and the other of the one next to it.
Will any reasonable person doubt the genuine-
ness of the list after such a test, added to the fact that
in the numerous cases that have been investigated in connec - tion with it, the entries on the list and the statements of Sham In in regard to them have been found absolutely cor- rect.
Paragraph 26. I have only to remark that in
my opinion the Petitioner by his influence and cleverness alone has escaped the indignity of imprisonment with which Witchell has been visited.
He was undoubtedly deserving of far severer punishment than his less fortunate fellow officer, and I re- gret that for the vindication of the tarnished honour of the Force, it has not been found possible to bring him to justice.
