The humble petition of Margaret
Nolan of Victoria in the Colony of Hongkong, Widow.
Respectfully Sheweth
That your petitioner is the widow of Nicholas Nolan, late of Victoria aforesaid Principal Warder in the Victoria Gaol who departed this life July 1876.
That the said Nicholas Nolan served in the 50th Regiment of the British Army for 18 years and 15 ... that while in such regiment he gained in the Bhutan War a medal and clasp and that on leaving the said regiment he obtained a certificate of good conduct from the Adjutant of the said Regiment, a copy of which is enclosed herewith.
That upon leaving the said Regiment he entered the service of the Admiralty as a Policeman in the Naval Yard, and continued in such service until the year 1883 when he was discharged therefrom at his own request. On such discharge he received a certificate from the
