Mr. Underwood
has finally declined the
appointment of Hospital wardress
in the Government Hospital at
Hongkong.
2. I am therefore to inquire
if
Lord Lansdowne will
be so good
as to recommend
another suitable officer
for the post at his earliest
convenience.
3. An amended statement
is in consequence.
It was owing to a misunderstanding
on these
points that Mr. Underwood has
withdrawn.
3.
A statement of particulars of the post
is enclosed, and I am
to point out that the
statement contained in the former column, as
regards
us to render
service counting for Pension
has been omitted as
being
inapplicable to men in
military service, and that
certain words have been
added
to the Column
which provides for the
granting of passage.
