4 You will be good enough to pay him the bounty of £5 due on his signing the usual agreement with a free second Class passage to the Colony by the P&O Steamer of the 29th inst., & to give him a letter stating that he has been appointed on the conditions embodied in the letter forwarded to this Dept, a copy of which is enclosed.
5. As the appointment was offered to Her Tucky before the 1st inst, he was promised the 4/- and 3/8 rate of Exchange for Leave and Pension purposes.
