I am directed by Mr Secretary Chamberlain to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 23rd ultimo respecting the registered package which was lost between Queensland and Hong Kong, and I am to inform you that the Hong Kong Government have already done all that they are required to do under Article VIII Subsection I, D 3 of the Postal Convention of 1891, and Mr Chamberlain regrets that he can add nothing to his previous letters on this subject.
