Sir,

(1) 16th instant. In reply to your letter of the (1) 17th instant I am directed by the Secretary of State for the Colonies to inform you that he approves of your leaving this Country for Hongkong by the steamer which starts on the 19th proximo.

A page will be taken for you by that steamer, your signing the Bond required by paragraph E of the Hongkong Straits Settlements and Malay States Cadetship Rules, and you should communicate at once in writing on the subject of this tour with the Crown Agent for the Colonies, Downing St. S.W, on the subject of the Bond which you are required to sign.
