In reply to your letter of the 27th inst I am directed by Secretary Chamberlain to inform you that he regrets that he had nothing to add to the decision conveyed to you in the letter from this Dept. of the 20th inst regarding your application for the grant of Retiring Allowance in respect of your services in Hongkong.
