In reply to your letter of the (19128/94)

I have the honour to inform you that my private medical adviser, who has had charge of me from the commencement of my illness, is firmly of opinion that though I may appear fit to resume my duties, my constitution has been very seriously weakened by repeated attacks of fever, and that my return to residence in Hong Kong would result in such consequences to my health that I am reluctantly compelled to give notice of my intention to resign my appointment at the expiration of my leave of absence.

I have the honour to be, Sir, Your obedient servant

Asst. Master Queens College, Hong Kong
