called for on 27th November 1895 and it was found that no postings appeared in the stock books for some time. A letter was written to the Colonial Secretary on the subject to which no reply has yet been received. This will form the subject of a special report later.

17. The Regulations for guidance of Store Accountants were approved towards the close of 1895, and the examination of the store books of the various Departments during 1896 will show if the Regulations are being properly carried out.

18. The examination of the Post Office Accounts showed that the Agent at Hankow was very lax in forwarding his Accounts and Remittances. This has been the subject of several special reports and up to the date of writing the Accounts and Remittances for November 1895 have not been received.

19. The Money Order Accounts were examined in detail and the annual balance sheet for 1894 thoroughly checked with the advices and accounts from other countries.

20. At the request of the Governor the Local Auditor sat on several boards of survey for the examination of old Stores, Stamps, &c.
