Sir,

I am directed by the Comptroller and Auditor General

to transmit to you, for the information of the Secretary of

State, a copy of the Annual Account of the Treasurer of

Hong Kong for the year 1895, to which the certificate of

the Comptroller and Auditor General has been appended,

together with a copy of the Statement of Assets and Lia-

bilities of the Colony on 31st December 1895.

I am at the same time to forward the Report

of the Comptroller and Auditor General on the Account,

together with Detailed Statements of Receipts and

Expenditure, and to request that these Statements, being in

original, may be returned.
