In reply to your letter no. 197512 of the 12th inst., I am directed by Mr. Chamberlain to acquaint you, for the information of the Postmaster-General, that Mr. G. K. Travers relinquished his appointment as Postmaster General of Hongkong on the 18th October last, and that Mr. Chamberlain has recently approved of the appointment of Mr. A. M. Thomson as his successor.
