Sir,
GENERAL POST OFFICE, LONDON.
12 February 1897.
100
In connexion with the Imperial Salary which is paid to the Postmaster General of Hong-Kong I am directed to enquire whether, as there is reason to suppose, Mr. A. K. Travers relinquished his post in October last, and, if so whether a successor has yet been nominated.
Last spring a letter was received here from Mr. A. M. Thomson, announcing that he would act as Postmaster General during the absence of Mr. Travers, but there has been no notification of any definite appointment.
The Postmaster General will be much obliged if the Secretary of State for the Colonies will cause him to be furnished with information on this subject.
I am,
Sir,
Your obedient Servant,
S. Wacpon
Under Secretary of State,
COLONIAL OFFICE.
