In reply to your letter of the 31st July 1897, 13310/97, relative to the extension of land leased to the Hong Kong and Whampoa Dock Company, at Kowloon, and in continuation of War Office letter of the 2nd instant, Hong Kong 5/17364/97; I am directed to acquaint you, for the information of the Secretary of State for the Colonies, that the Secretary of State for War is prepared to consent to the exchange of the site of the Depression Range Finder Station, for the new site as shown on the plan which accompanied War Office letter of the 8th July last, Hong Kong 8/11520/97, and to the transfer of the land hatched green thereon without any record being made of their respective values.
