5th instant 6680/97, I am directed by the Secretary of State for War to acquaint you that
the Marquess of Lansdowne is prepared to recommend No 8108. Corporal C. Underwood
Medical Staff Corps, serving at Aldershot, for the appointment of Hospital Warder in the Gaol Hospital at Hong Kong;
and are forwarded herewith; and his attestation
Copy of his defaulter Sheet is forwarded for inspection.
He will be allowed, if accepted, to convert the remainder of his Army Service into Reserve Service for the purpose of taking up the appointment.
The return of the Enclosures is requested.
