reply that the Marquess of Lansdowne is prepared to recommend Corporal J. S. Driver, Army Medical Staff, now serving at Maidstone. This appointment; and his attestation and copy of his Defaulter Sheet are forwarded herewith for inspection. It will be observed that his age just exceeds the limit laid down in your letter above quoted, but it is hoped that this will not necessarily prevent his acceptance, he is in other respects very good.
