defences at Hongkong; viz. (1) to replace the

three 64 pr. M. L.

Stonecutters

guns in Shore Battery

two Lyddinche

Q. F. guns;

(2) to mount two 12 pr.

Q.F. guns in place

of

the two 6 pr. Q.F.

Point Lower Battery

guns at Belchers, and

(3) to mount howitzers

Battery

at Lytton Central to protect the Lytton

Peninsula from against

landings.

The estimated

cost

of

the above

mentioned armament,

including guns, mountings etc.

was £28,500; and

the estimated cost

of the necessary

works in connection

with the new armament

was £8,230, this

being made up as follows:

emplacements etc. at Stonecutter's Shore £1,900, emplacements at Belcher Point £4,000, Platforms, Magazines etc. at Lytton £2,500,

and storage for six machine guns for general defence £830.
