40 proposals with regard to Stonecutters Shore Battery have reached a more definite character and it is probable that the two 4.7in Q.F. Guns will be mounted for an approximate cost of £1,900 thus effecting a saving of £4,000.
3. The possibility of utilising the existing works as much as practicable will of course be carefully considered; and every endeavour will be made to keep down the cost of the works.
4. The cost might be spread over two years - £4,000 being provided in 1897-8 and the remainder in 1898-9.
