Q.F. guns, and to mount 2.12 pr. Q.F. guns in place of the 2, 6-pr. Q.F. guns at Belchers.
For the protection of the Lymun Peninsula against landings, it is intended to mount howitzers, and provision will consequently have to be made for the emplacements and magazines.
The cost of Works alone in connection with the above services amounts to £12,230.
In order to obtain the full power for the B.L. Guns at the Station, a system of position finding must be established. The guns are very costly, and to leave them as they are, without the most recent arrangements for obtaining accurate ranges, would be very bad economy.
The cost of Works alone in connection with the establishment of a system of Position Finding, &c., would amount to about £10,000. This is a very approximate estimate, but until the scheme is worked out, it is impossible to give accurate figures.
The cost of the proposed armament in connection with the above changes amounts to:
