In my despatch No.198 Commercial of the 7th instant, I had the honour to draw your Lordship's attention to the dangers which in the opinion of the correspondent of the Lyons Chamber of Commerce Mission, the opening of the Si-Kiang would entail to French trade.

Yesterday's "Politique Coloniale" publishes an "open letter" addressed to Monsieur Riotteau the Deputy appointed to draw up the report on next year's Colonial Estimates, which takes a gloomy view of the future trade prospects of the Langson Railway.
